RW 29 Thunderbolt BST 6B XD

The Rocket Thunderbolt is our latest and greatest 29er carbon MTB Wheelset.

Weight: 990g for Rear Wheel, 1.9kgs for the Wheelset. 

With an I.D. of 30mm, the Thunderbolt carbon rim allows for smooth cornering and excellent performance at low tyre pressures.

We have chosen to lace this wheelset up using Pillar TB2018 spokes. These spokes are double butted, tapering from 2mm at the head down to 1.8mm in the body. They also feature Pillar's patented reinforced 2.2mm head, which provides better fatigue resistance at the hub flange than a standard 14g spoke. Using double butted spokes allows for additional weight saving - which is very important in a carbon wheelset.

Finally, we have chosen to use our Rocket-branded BAM hub. This hub features a 56 tooth ratchet ring, giving 6.4 degrees of engagement. We've found this to be the perfect amount of responsiveness when out on the trails. The BAM's 6-pawl design is also easier to service than its ratchet-ring competitors.

Although this wheel is pictured with an XD Freehub, we can easily change to HG or Microspline freehub upon request. Just let us know after placing your order.
