FW 29 Thunderbolt BST 6B

The Rocket Thunderbolt is our latest and greatest 29er carbon MTB Wheelset.

Weight: 920g for Front Wheel, 1.9kgs for the Wheelset. 

With an I.D. of 30mm, the Thunderbolt carbon rim allows for smooth cornering and excellent performance at low tyre pressures.

We have chosen to lace this wheelset up using Pillar TB2018 spokes. These spokes are double butted, tapering from 2mm at the head down to 1.8mm in the body. They also feature Pillar's patented reinforced 2.2mm head, which provides better fatigue resistance at the hub flange than a standard 14g spoke. Using double butted spokes allows for additional weight saving - which is very important in a carbon wheelset.

Finally, we have chosen to use our Rocket-branded BAM hub. This hub is precision engineered in Taiwan from high quality alloy. It also uses high quality stainless steel bearing cartridges, which are easy to swap out if ever you find them running a bit rough.
